Welcome to Unit 10! This is the final week of the semester, where you’ll complete your paper and wrap up your coursework with a final seminar.
Information Technology (“IT”) is a broad umbrella term for many technical disciplines and career paths. Individuals interested in threats, including those physical and virtual may go into cybersecurity. Other individuals who want to help inform decisions (or make business decisions) may go into data analytics. Another subset of individuals may go into artificial intelligence and machine learning, which when optimized falls under the computer science domain. In short, there are so many different opportunities for you all.
For some supplemental reading, I have found an article from a leading research company, Gartner, that reviewed the top 15 technical skills tech leaders are requesting (Gartner, 2024).
